Chocolat

Bonjour!

Ma petite dernière est une vraie gourmande et est absolument fan de chocolat. Sa technique pour manger un choco est de l'ouvrir, de lécher tout le chocolat en se faisant une belle moustache, voire même une barbe, au passage et, une fois qu'il n'y plus de chocolat, elle en demande un autre! C'est le sujet de la page que je vous montre aujourd'hui. ^^

Pour faire cette page, j'ai suivi un sketch de Becky Fleck pour le blog PageMaps avec, à la clé pour le/la gagnant(e), un superbe kit de My Creative Scrapbook.

My little one loves food and is totally crazy about chocolate. She has developed her very own technique to eat a chocolate filled biscuit: she opens it, licks all the chocolate off and  asks for another one! When she's done, she ends up with a beautiful chocolate mustache or even a beard! That's what the layout I'm showing you today is all about. ^^

To make this layout, I used a sketch by Becky Fleck for the PageMaps blog with, for the lucky winner, a beautiful kit offered by My Creative Scrapbook.

Je viens vous présenter une nouvelle page pour un autre challenge sur le blog PageMaps (et oui, encore un: ça, c'est un 7ème anniversaire fêté en bonne et due forme!) en collaboration avec Webster's Pages. Il fallait cette fois transposer un sketch de Becky Fleck en format A4 sur une page 30x30.

La photo que j'ai choisie date d'un peu moins de 2 ans lorsque j'attendais mon deuxième bébé. On avait décidé de garder la surprise du sexe pour la naissance d'où les touches de bleu et de rose sur ma page. Bon, c'est vrai qu'il y a un peu plus de rose que de bleu au final: ce n'était pas dans le but de vendre la mèche (on a eu une deuxième petite fille que vous avez déjà pu voir sur mes autres pages) mais surtout pour coller avec les couleurs de la photo (et puis aussi parce que j'adore le rose ^^)!
Sur la photo, ma grande n'est pas très souriante mais je vous assure qu'elle était très heureuse d'avoir un petit frère ou une petite soeur et qu'elle l'attendait impatiemment! C'est juste que, ce jour-là, elle n'était pas décidée à prendre la pose... On a utilisé cette photo sur les timbres des faire-parts de naissance de notre deuxième puce.

Today, I want to show you a new layout that I made for another challenge on the PageMaps blog (yes, another one: that is a 7th anniversary celebration in due form!) in association with Webster's Pages. This time, we had to convert a 8.5x11 sketch by Becky Fleck to a 12x12 page.

The photo I used was taken less than two years ago when I was expecting my second baby. We didn't want to know the sex until the baby was born, hence the touches of blue and pink on my layout. Well, that's true that there is more pink than blue on the page: I didn't intend on giving the game away (we had a second little girl that you have already seen on my previous layouts), it was just to fit the colors of the photo (and because I love pink ^^)!
On this photo, my eldest daughter isn't very smiley but I can assure you that she was thrilled to have a baby brother or sister and that she was impatiently waiting for him or her! It's just that, that day, she wasn't in the mood to strike a pose... We used this photo on the stamps for our second daughter's birth cards.

Wet 'n Wild

Je vous présente aujourd'hui une page inspirée par un sketch de Becky Fleck pour un nouveau challenge sur PageMaps, toujours à l'occasion de ses 7 ans, et sponsorisé par Simple Stories. Il fallait cette fois utiliser des bordures. J'en ai donc mis quelques unes sur ma page mais j'ai aussi joué avec les bords des bandes de divers papiers en utilisant des ciseaux cranteurs ou en les découpant en suivant les formes imprimées. J'ai aussi  joué avec les bords inférieurs de mes photos.

I'm back today with a page inspired by a sketch by Becky Fleck for another PageMaps 7th anniversary challenge sponsored by Simple Stories. The layout created from that sketch had to include borders. In addition to using a few actual borders, I also played with the edges of various paper strips using paper edger scissors or cutting them up following the prints. I also altered the bottom borders of my photos.

The story of our family

Je reviens avec une nouvelle page faite pour un autre challenge sur le blog PageMaps qui fête ce mois-ci ses 7 ans. La gagnante se verra offrir un bon d'achat de 200$ dans la boutique A Cherry on Top: de quoi faire de bonnes emplettes scrap!

Les quatre photos du sketch de Becky Fleck m'ont inspiré une page rétrospective sur ma petite famille. Mon chéri, qui me reprochait de ne pas assez scrapper notre chienne, va être content puisqu'elle est là elle aussi! Pour pouvoir utiliser mes photos en format paysage, j'ai tourné le sketch.

The four photos on Becky Fleck' sketch inspired me a retrospective page about my little family. My companion, who often points out that our dog should be a more recurrent subject on my layouts, will be pleased since she appears on this one!
I turned the sketch sideways as my photos were in landscape format.

J'ai fait la branche en me servant des contours d'une découpe Kesi'Art faite à la Big Shot comme pochoir et d'encre Distress appliquée avec du Cut'n Dry.

I made the branch using a home made stencil (with the edges of a Kesi'Art die cut made with the Big Shot) and some Distress ink applied with a bit of Cut'n Dry.

Aujourd'hui, je vous montre ma participation à un challenge du blog PageMaps à l'occasion de ses 7 ans et en collaboration avec Little Yellow Bicycle. Il fallait s'inspirer d'un sketch de Becky Fleck.

En découvrant le sketch, j'ai tout de suite pensé à des photos de mes filles avec leur papa. Comme ledit papa se décrit souvent comme un "gars cool", le titre était tout trouvé!
Pour rester dans l'ambiance disco du titre, vous remarquerez ma reproduction très réaliste d'une boule à facettes! Dans le même papier, j'ai réalisé des brads noeuds papillons servant à tenir la bannière.

Today, I'm showing you my entry to a PageMaps challenge for its 7th anniversary and in association with Little Yellow Bicycle. We had to start from a sketch by Becky Fleck.

When I saw the sketch, I immediately thought about some pictures of my daughters with their dad. And, as the aforesaid dad often describes himself as a 'cool guy', the title was easy to find!
To match the disco atmosphere of the title, you will notice my very realistic copy of a disco ball! Using the same paper, I've made bow tie brads to hold the banner.

Life through pink colored glasses

Bonjour et bienvenue sur mon blog dédié au scrapbooking! 

Je dois avouer que j'avais quelques réticences à ouvrir un blog: peur de ne pas savoir m'y prendre (je ne suis pas la plus douée avec un ordinateur!) et peur de ne pas avoir assez de temps. Mais voir les blogs d'autres scrappeuses m'a donné envie de partager moi aussi ma passion. Alors, je me lance et on verra bien! En tout cas, je ferai de mon mieux!

"Never Cut the Scrap!": pourquoi ce nom? Et bien, c'est un clin d’œil à mon chéri qui, pour m'embêter, parle de "crapbooking" au lieu de scrapbooking...! D'où le jeu de mots avec l'expression "cut the crap": je vous laisse le soin de vérifier la signification... très charmante!

Pour mon premier post, je vais vous présenter mes deux puces avec une page qui les met en scène. C'est une photo d'elles deux que j'aime beaucoup, pleine de joie et de complicité. Elle les représente bien toutes les deux: la grande un peu fofolle et pleine de vie et de malice; la petite toute mignonne, subjuguée par sa grande soeur et qui essaie de faire pareil qu'elle mais qui n'y arrive pas tout à fait encore!
J'ai présenté cette page à un concours du blog PageMaps en association avec My Mind's Eye. Il fallait s'inspirer d'un sketch de Becky Fleck.


Hi and welcome to my blog dedicated to scrapbooking! 

I must admit I wasn't sure about opening a blog: I didn't know if I could manage it (I'm nothing like a computer freak!) and I was afraid not to have enough time. But seeing other crafters' blogs made me want to share my passion too. So, let's just go for it and we'll see! I'll do my best!

Why the name 'Never Cut the Scrap'? Well, it was inspired by my companion who talks of 'crapbooking' instead of scrapbooking just to bug me...!

In my first post, I'm going to introduce my two little girls with a layout about them (like most of my layouts anyway ^^). I really love that photo of them: it's full of happiness and complicity. And it represents them quite well: the elder a bit wacky and full of life and beam; the little one so cute and filled with admiration for her big sister whom she tries to imitate but not quite so well yet!
