Summer is here

Bonjour!

Me voilà de retour avec une nouvelle page que j'ai faite pour le August Take 5 Tuesday Challenge de Paper Issues. Il fallait utiliser cinq éléments d'une liste sur un projet et j'ai choisi du fil, un napperon, des fleurs (et des oiseaux), des découpes en chipboard et quelque chose d'argenté. J'ai utilisé différentes collections My Mind's Eye, dont des papiers de la collection On Trend 2, et des badges 'Summertime' de Feed Your Craft.

Je me suis inspirée des bulles que fait ma fille sur la photo en cousant un cercle et en l'ornant d'éléments ronds: des cercles découpés dans des papiers à motif, des brads, des badges, des enamel dots, des découpes en chipboard et un bouton. J'ai cousu par dessus certains cercles et j'en ai surélevé d'autres, ainsi que la photo, avec des carrés de mousse 3D. J'ai terminé en ajoutant des bandes de papier tamponnées et un noeud au centre du cercle.

I'm back with a new page that I made for the Paper Issues August Take 5 Tuesday Challenge. The rule is to choose five items from a list to use on a project and I picked thread, a doily, flowers (and birds), chipboard and something silver. I used several My Mind's Eye collections, including On Trend 2 papers, and 'Summertime' mini flair badges from Feed Your Craft.

I was inspired by the bubbles my daughter is blowing on the photo and I stitched a circle that I adorned with round items: patterned paper circles, brads, mini flair, enamel dots, chipboard pieces and a button. I adhered some of the paper circles and the photo with foam squares for dimension. Finally, I added stamped strips of paper and a silver bow in the circle.

J'espère que vous allez bien et que vous profitez de l'été!

J'ai un nouveau projet pour Feed Your Craft à partager avec vous aujourd'hui. Il s'agit d'une page A4 que j'ai réalisée avec des badges du pack 'Puppy Love', des produits My Mind's Eye et une photo des filles, dont celle à fourrure, sur la plage il y a quelques semaines, alors que le temps était moins estival que maintenant. Pour pouvoir utiliser des couleurs vives sur ma page, j'ai atténué celles de la photo en y ajoutant un filtre avec Pixlr-o-matic.

J'ai commencé par habiller le fond de page en cousant une grille avec des fils de différentes couleurs. Pour faire honneur à ma chienne, j'ai ensuite tracé et découpé des silhouettes de bouledogue dans différents papiers imprimés en utilisant un tamponnage comme gabarit. En les disposant sur la page, je trouvais que le fond manquait encore de couleurs. J'ai donc décidé de me lancer dans la coloration de certaines cases avec des encres, des gelatos et un pinceau humide et de faire quelques taches avec de l'encre noire. Une fois le fond sec, j'ai collé la photo et les bouledogues avec des carrés de mousse 3D et je les ai ornés avec divers embellissements, dont les badges d'Elise qui apportent une petite touche rigolote et encore plus de relief à la page.

I've been busy having some summer fun with the girls but still found time to get crafty and play with some pretty Feed Your Craft mini flair. This time, I made a 8.5x11 page using mini flair badges from the 'Puppy Love' pack, My Mind's Eye supplies and a photo of my girls, including the furry one, on the beach a few weeks ago, when the weather wasn't as summery as it is now. I added a filter to the picture with Pixlr-o-matic to tone it down and use bright colors on the page.

I started by stitching a grid on the cardstock using several colors of thread. I then made lots of paper friends for my Frenchie using a stamp to make my own template. I drew the bullies with it on patterned papers from the MME On Trend 2 6x6 pad and then hand cut them. I placed them on the page and felt like the background needed more colors. So I decided to color in some squares using ink, gelatos and a wet paintbrush and I made stains with black ink. Once the background was dry, I adhered the photo and the paper bulldogs with foam squares and adorned them with various embellies, including Elise's mini flair that add dimension to the page along with a fresh and fun touch.

Je suis de retour avec une nouvelle page à partager avec vous, réalisée avec la collection On Trend 2 de My Mind's Eye ainsi qu'une photo de l'été dernier en attendant le beau temps estival qui se fait désirer par ici cette année!

J'ai fait chauffer mes ciseaux et mon cutter et je me suis armée de patience pour découper des hexagones dans des papiers à motif et des papillons dans du cardstock blanc, en les traçant préalablement à l'aide d'un modèle, ainsi que des triangles en suivant les motifs d'une feuille de paper pad. J'ai collé les triangles sur toute la page avec des carrés de mousse 3D de manière à former des soleils. J'ai rempli les soleils aux bords de la page avec des papillons surmontés d'enamel dots et ceux du centre avec des hexagones sur lesquels j'ai cousu des sequins à la manière de rayons de soleil. J'ai maté la photo avec un morceau de papier à motif et je l'ai placée au centre de la page en y ajoutant un papillon plus coloré que les autres ainsi qu'un badge Feed Your Craft pour le titre.

I'm back with a new layout that I'd like to share with you today, using the On Trend 2 line by My Mind's Eye and a picture from last summer that makes me long for hot sunny days as the weather over here isn't summery at all right now!

I played with my scissors and craft knife and summoned my patience to cut triangles following the patterns of a 6x6 pad sheet as well as hexagons in patterned paper and butterflies in white cardstock, using a template to draw them first. I adhered the triangles with foam squares, placing them all over the page so as to make little suns. I filled the center of the suns on the edges of the page with butterflies and enamel dots and I placed the hexagons that I stitched with sequins, just like sunbeams, in the middle of the page. I backed the photo with a piece of patterned paper, added another butterfly and a Feed Your Craft mini flair badge for the title and I sticked the pic in the center of the layout using foam squares here again for dimension.

Je suis de passage aujourd'hui pour partager une carte colorée pour la Fête des Pères. J'ai découpé une bande dans le papier 06 de la collection Fancy Free de Pink Paislee pour la base de la carte et j'ai utilisé chaque carré comme une case que j'ai remplie avec différents embellissements: une banderole coupée en deux, des thickers, des enamel dots et des demi-cercles découpés dans un papier à motif. J'ai utilisé de la mousse 3D pour faire ressortir les différents éléments.

I'm popping in today to share a colorful Father's Day card. To make the basis for the card, I cut a strip in paper 06 from Pink Paislee Fancy Free and I adorned each square with various embellishments: a banner cut in half, thickers, enamel dots and patterned paper semi-circles. I adhered the paper items with foam tape to make them pop from the card.

Hello gorgeous

J'espère que votre semaine a bien démarré!

De mon côté, je commence la semaine avec une nouvelle page en format A4 réalisée avec les collections On Trend 2 et Hello Gorgeous de My Mind's Eye ainsi qu'une photo de ma fille aînée prise dans le jardin il y a quelques semaines.

Une fois n'est pas coutume, je n'avais pas d'idée précise en tête en commençant cette page. Je suis partie de ce joli papier floral du paper pad On Trend 2 dans lequel j'ai décidé d'insérer la photo en créant des fentes au niveau des fleurs avec un cutter de précison. En regardant mon matériel, je me suis dit que je pourrais utiliser le paquet de brads brodés Hello Gorgeous sur ma page en le transformant en tag. Je l'ai placé sous la photo, cachant par la même occasion les trous faits par les brads sur le paquet, en y laissant un des brads. J'ai ajouté des fleurs tamponnées et des branches découpées dans des papiers à motif, en haut et en bas de la photo. A ce moment là, je trouvais qu'il manquait encore quelque chose à la page. N'ayant encore rien collé, j'ai décidé d'étaler un peu d'encre verte avec un pinceau humide sur le cardstock blanc. Une fois le fond sec, j'ai collé tous les éléments, comme à mon habitude avec un petit point de colle ou des carrés de mousse 3D pour plus de relief, et j'ai terminé en ajoutant des enamel dots ainsi qu'un badge Feed Your Craft et en faisant quelques taches d'encre dorée.

I hope your week is off to a great start!

I'm starting this new week with a new 8.5x11 page featuring the MME On Trend 2 and Hello Gorgeous lines as well as a picture of my eldest girl snapped in the garden a couple of weeks ago.

I had no precise idea in mind before getting started on this project, which is rather unusual for me: I like to know where I'm going! I just knew I wanted to use this beautiful floral paper from the On Trend 2 6x6 pad. So I cut along the flowers at the top and at the bottom of the paper with my craft knife in order to tuck the photo in. I then had a look at my stash and saw the pack of Hello Gorgeous stitched brads and thought I could try to turn the packaging into a tag. I placed it under the pic, hiding the holes made by the brads at the same time, just leaving one of the brads on it. I added a couple of stamped flowers and hand-cut branches at the top and at the bottom of the photo. At that point, I felt like there was something missing on the page. So, I decided to spread green ink on the white cardstock with a wet paintbrush. Once the background was dry, I adhered all the items with foam squares or a tiny bit of glue for dimension. I put the finishing touch by adding enamel dots as well as a mini flair badge from Feed Your Craft and by making stains with gold ink.

Je suis déjà de retour pour vous montrer une page A4 très girly avec une photo des filles datant d'il y a 4 ans, des papiers et embellissements My Mind's Eye et un badge Feed Your Craft.

J'ai commencé par superposer du papier de soie et deux feuilles de paper pad alignées verticalement sur un morceau de carton ondulé. J'ai coupé une autre feuille de paper pad en deux et j'ai placé le triangle obtenu en bas de la page. J'y ai inséré des cartes de journaling et des découpes en papier et j'y ai collé la photo, un noeud et un badge. J'ai ajouté deux papillons découpés dans une carte de journaling, des enamel shapes ainsi que des découpes et des boutons en haut de la page pour compléter le titre.

I'm already back with a new project to share with you. It's a 8.5x11 page with a photo of the girls from 4 years ago, My Mind's Eye papers and embellishments and a Feed Your Craft mini flair badge.

I started with layering tissue paper and two paper pad sheets on a piece of corrugated paper. I cut another paper pad sheet in half so as to get two triangles. I placed one of them at the bottom of the page, I adhered the photo, a bow and a flair badge on it and I also used it to tuck journal cards and die-cuts. I added two butterflies that I cut in journal cards, a couple of enamel shapes as well as paper die-cuts and buttons at the top of the page to complete the title.

Aujourd'hui, je vous présente un nouveau projet pour Feed Your Craft. Il s'agit d'un set de cartes, aux couleurs douces et printanières, réalisées avec des badges des packs "Wonky Hearts" et "You Are Lovely" ainsi que la collection On Trend de My Mind's Eye.

Pour les réaliser, j'ai commencé par étaler de la peinture, rose pour l'une et vert clair pour l'autre, sur la base de cardstock blanc. J'ai ensuite superposé des morceaux de papiers imprimés, provenant du paper pad, découpés en différentes formes (diamant, papillon, tag), des napperons, une découpe en chipboard, des fleurs ainsi que les titres des tags découpés dans des papiers à motif du paper pad. J'ai également orné les cartes de twine et de sequins et j'ai terminé en ajoutant les badges qui complètent ou illustrent les titres.

Today, I have a new Feed Your Craft project to share with you. It's a set of cards, with lovely pastel colors, that I made with mini flair badges from the 'Wonky Hearts' and 'You Are Lovely' packs and the On Trend collection by My Mind's Eye.

I started with spreading paint, pink for one and light green for the other, on the basis that I made with pieces of white cardstock. I then created layers on the top of the cards with pieces of patterned paper coming from the 6x6 pad that I cut in different shapes (diamond, tag, heart-butterfly), paper doilies, a chipboard piece, fussy cut flowers and the sentiments, also coming from the 6x6 pad. I adorned the cards with twine and sequins and I finally added the mini flair to complete or illustrate the sentiment.

J'espère que votre semaine se passe bien!

Je suis de passage aujourd'hui pour partager une page qui fait la part belle aux papillons et à ma couleur fétiche, le rose. Elle met en scène une photo prise en 2011 de moi et de ma fille aînée  maquillée en papillon.

Pour la réaliser, je me suis inspirée d'un passage de la chanson "The Show Must Go On" de Queen que j'ai tapé à l'ordinateur puis imprimé. J'ai ensuite dessiné et découpé des papillons dans cette feuille ainsi que dans des papiers imprimés. Je les ai disposés sur un carré de cardstock blanc de manière à former les ailes d'un papillon et j'ai fait des taches avec de la peinture acrylique rose. Après avoir placé la photo sur des morceaux de papiers imprimés et y avoir ajouté quelques embellissements, je l'ai collée au centre du cardstock que j'ai lui même placé sur un papier imprimé.

I am back today to share a new page featuring lots of butterflies, pink and a picture from 2011 of me and my eldest girl with her sweet face painted like a butterfly.

The idea for this layout came from the photo and from lyrics from 'The Show Must Go On' by Queen. I printed the lyrics on a sheet of paper in which I cut several butterflies. I drew and cut more butterflies from sheets of patterned paper and I placed them on a piece of white cardstock so as to form butterfly wings. I made stains using pink acrylic paint, I layered the photo on pieces of patterned paper and adorned it with a couple of embellies. I then placed it between the butterfly wings with foam squares. Finally, I adhered the piece of white cardstock on a 12x12 sheet of patterned paper.

Je termine la semaine avec une nouvelle page où figurent des photos de ma fille aînée, alors âgée de presque 3 ans, et de sa petite bouille d'ange ainsi que des papiers de différentes collections My Mind's Eye.

Sur cette page, j'ai utilisé des fleurs, des cœurs, des mots et un papillon découpés dans des feuilles 30x30. J'ai fait un peu de couture ainsi que de la peinture au milieu du carré de cardstock blanc avec un mélange de gesso et de peinture verte. J'ai également fait des taches à l'encre noire et violette. J'ai collé la photo avec des carrés de mousse 3D et les fleurs avec un point de colle en recourbant les bords pour apporter du dynamisme à la page.

How are you today?

I'm finishing off the week with a new page featuring photos of my eldest girl when she was almost 3 and her adorable little face as well as My Mind's Eye papers.

On this layout, I used fussy cut flowers, hearts, words and a butterfly. I did a bit of sewing and some painting in the middle of the white cardstock with a mix of gesso and green paint. I also made stains with black and purple ink. I adhered the picture with foam squares and sticked the flowers with only a tiny bit of glue for dimension.

Je suis de passage aujourd'hui pour partager une page 30x30 répondant au March Challenge de My Mind's Eye qui a pour sujet le "quilt pattern". J'ai suivi le thème à la lettre en choisissant une photo de ma fille aînée, alors âgée de 5 mois, en pleine sieste.

Je suis partie sur l'idée du patchwork en utilisant des carrés que j'ai découpés dans différents papiers imprimés provenant des paper pads Christmas on Market Street et Market Street Ashbury Heights. Je les ai placés en losange sur le cardstock pour former le fameux "quilt pattern". J'ai maté la photo avec un morceau de papier imprimé et j'y ai ajouté le titre, des fleurs découpées elles-aussi dans des feuilles de papier imprimé, ainsi qu'un badge et une découpe étoile. Dans les losanges blancs autour de la photo, j'ai placé des étoiles que j'ai dessinées avec un gabarit maison puis découpées dans du cardstock blanc. J'ai collé la photo ainsi que les étoiles avec des carrés de mousse 3D pour apporter du relief à la page, comme je le fais souvent.

I'm popping in today to share a 12x12 layout inspired by the My Mind's Eye March Challenge which is all about quilt patterns. As a quilt is made for sleeping, I chose a picture of my eldest daughter fast asleep back when she was 5 months old.

I went for the idea of the patchwork by trimming squares in several sheets of patterned paper coming from the Christmas on Market Street and Market Street Ashbury Heights 6x6 pads. I placed them in a diamond shape on the cardstock to create a patchwork quilt. I backed the photo with a piece of patterned paper and added the title along with fussy cut flowers, a flair pin and a star die-cut. On the white diamonds around the picture, I placed stars that I drew with a homemade stencil and then cut in a piece of white cardstock. As I like adding dimension to my projects, I adhered the photo and the stars with foam squares.

Je suis de passage aujourd'hui pour partager une carte que j'ai faite à l'occasion de la fête des grands-mères qui avait lieu hier. 

Je suis partie sur l'idée du patchwork en découpant des carrés ainsi que les lettres du titre dans différents papiers imprimés provenant des paper pads des collections On Trend et Christmas on Market Street de My Mind's Eye. J'ai également cousu les bords de la base avec du fil blanc et j'ai ajouté des fleurs, découpées elles-aussi dans une feuille de paper pad, de part et d'autre des carrés. Avec le badge que j'ai placé au centre de la carte, elles apportent une touche vive et colorée.

I'm stopping by today to share a card I made for the girls' Nana as yesterday was Grandmother's Day in France. 

I went for the idea of the patchwork by cutting squares and letters in different patterned papers coming from the MME On Trend and Christmas on Market Street paper pads. I also sewed a frame on the card basis using white thread and I added fussy cut flowers on either side of the squares. Along with the flair button, they bring a bright and colorful touch to the card.

You give me butterflies

Je suis de retour avec une nouvelle page toute en peinture, en encre, en tamponnages et en papiers de la collection My Story de My Mind's Eye.

C'est la carte de journaling "you give me butterflies" qui a été le point de départ de cette page. J'ai donc cherché une photo de moi et de mon chéri pour l'illustrer et je suis tombée sur cette vieille photo qui a plus de dix ans!

J'ai commencé par peindre un cœur à l'aide d'un pochoir maison, de peinture acrylique rose et d'un pinceau. Une fois sec, j'ai réalisé des papillons à l'intérieur du cœur avec, une fois encore, un pochoir maison, du gesso et un pinceau. A l'extérieur du cœur, j'ai fait d'autres papillons, toujours avec le même pochoir, des tampons pour certains et de l'encre et un pinceau pour d'autres. J'ai ensuite fait des taches à l'encre rose et noire. J'ai écrit le journaling en angle droit dans deux coins opposés de la page et j'ai terminé en collant les cartes de journaling ainsi que la photo au centre du cœur avec des carrés de mousse 3D.

I'm back today to share a layout using paint, ink, stamps and MME My Story papers.

The starting point for this page was the 'you give me butterflies' journal card. So I looked for a picture of me and my partner to go with it and I came across this old photo from ten years ago!

I started with painting a heart in the middle of the page using a homemade stencil, pink acrylic paint and a paintbrush. Once dry, I painted a couple of butterflies with another homemade stencil and some gesso inside the heart. I made more butterflies across the page using the same stencil, stamps and black Versafine on some of them and black ink along with a paintbrush on others. I then made stains using black and pink ink. I wrote the journaling on two opposite corners of the page and I finished the layout by adhering the journal cards and the photo in the middle of the heart with foam squares.

Je commence la semaine avec une nouvelle page 30x30 toute en papillons, en cœurs, en froufrous et en papiers et embellissements My Story de My Mind's Eye. Elle met en scène une photo de ma fille aînée, alors âgée de 4 ans, et de son air "oups, je crois que j'ai fait une bêtise"...!

J'ai commencé par vaporiser du Color Shine rose pâle sur le carstock. Une fois sec, j'y ai collé une bande de papier de soie que j'avais préalablement froncée. J'ai ensuite disposé des cartes de journaling, dont certaines sont découpées, sur la bande de papier de soie. Après avoir cousu la photo avec des fils doré et rose et ajouté un badge et des découpes (provenant de la carte de journaling du haut), je l'ai collée au milieu de ma bande centrale, avec des carrés de mousse 3D. J'ai terminé par ajouter des cœurs que j'ai tracés, découpés puis pliés, de chaque côté de la bande de papier de soie.

I'm starting off the week with a new 12x12 layout full of butterflies, hearts, ruffles and My Mind's Eye My Story supplies. It is centered on a picture of my eldest girl back when was 4 and her 'oops, I think I did something wrong' look...!

I started with spraying some light pink Color Shine on the cardstock. Once dry, I adhered a strip of ruffled tissue paper in the middle of the page and placed some journal cards over it. After stitching a frame on the photo with gold and pink thread, I sticked it on the paper tissue strip with foam squares and added a flair pin and die-cuts (coming from the journal card at the top of the layout). Finally, I added paper hearts that I drew, cut and then gently folded on either side of the paper tissue strip.

Je commence la semaine avec une nouvelle page centrée sur ma fille aînée et réalisée avec différentes collections My Mind's Eye.

Tout d'abord, j'ai étalé du gesso avec une carte au centre du papier de fond. J'ai découpé des bandes de papier dans des paper pads et les ai placées avec la photo sur le papier de fond, en rectangle. J'ai ensuite tracé un cadre au crayon à papier et ai percé les bandes ainsi que la photo en suivant les lignes de crayon que j'ai ensuite effacées. J'ai cousu les bandes séparément, en incorporant des papillons découpés dans un papier imprimé, et les ai ensuite collées sur le papier de fond en faisant attention à bien reformer le cadre. J'ai ajouté la photo, le titre ainsi que quelques découpes en papier. J'ai utilisé des carrés de mousse 3D sur quelques éléments et ai collé légèrement les autres pour donner du relief et de la légèreté à la page.

I have a new layout to share with you to start off this new week. It is centered on my eldest daughter and uses different My Mind's Eye collections.

First, I spread some gesso with a plastic card in the middle of the background paper. I cut strips in different paper pads and placed them, along with the pic, on the background paper, in a rectangle shape. I drew a frame around this paper rectangle with a pencil, pierced the strips and the photo following the pencil lines and then erased them. I stitched the paper strips separately, along with a couple of butterflies that I cut in a sheet of patterned paper. I then sticked them on the background paper making sure to form the frame. I added the picture, the title as well as a few embellies. I sticked the papers with only a tiny bit of glue and used foam squares on the photo, the title and some of the die-cuts to give dimension to the page. I just love the dreamy touch that foam squares add to my projects as they give the impression that the elements are floating on the page.

J'ai également essayé de dresser mon portrait en quelques mots: pas facile comme exercice!

It's full of things I love: pink, floral paper, stitching, ink stains, a butterfly and the title that is inspired by a song by Nirvana, one of my favorite bands.
