You smile, sparkle and shine

Bonjour!

Pour terminer janvier, voici une toute nouvelle page. Une fois n'est pas coutume, j'ai utilisé une photo en noir et blanc. Je dois avouer qu'avec les photos en noir et blanc j'ai toujours l'impression de perdre quelque chose par rapport aux photos en couleurs. Mais je me suis dit que j'allais quand même essayer et, finalement, j'aime beaucoup le résultat! Et puis, l'avantage avec les photos en noir et blanc, c'est que l'on peut utiliser les couleurs que l'on veut...

Je suis restée simple dans la mise en page en jouant sur la superposition des papiers de part et d'autre de la photo et en ajoutant seulement quelques embellissements: des brads, un badge, un papillon en papier et un autre venant d'une planche de transferts (de la très belle collection Jubilee-Sherbet de My Mind's Eye). J'ai également cousu un cercle au milieu de la page pour mettre l'accent sur la photo que j'ai collée en son centre.

To finish off January, I have a brand new layout to share. For once, I chose a black and white photo. Actually, I rarely use them because I always feel like I'm losing something compared with color photos... But, this time, I wanted to give it a try and it turns out that I really like the result! Plus, black and white pictures make the paper selection process easier since you can more or less use the colors you want...!

To tell you a bit more about this picture and explain the journaling that I typed in French, it was taken while I made my little one try out some new clothes. This is not supposed to be a very pleasant and fun thing to do for a little girl of 2... well, except for her! A little miss sunshine she is, always smiling! ^^

I kept the page simple by layering papers on each side of the picture and by adding only a few embellishments: some brads, a flair, a paper butterfly and a rub-on one (from the beautiful Jubilee-Sherbet collection from My Mind's Eye). I also handstitched a circle in the center of the page and then placed the photo right in the middle to draw the attention to it.
